A Break in Transmission…

Kylie and I are a wee bit distracted from creating at the moment due to the release of this…

:) I know of a few other crafters that love The Outlander Saga as much as we do, so they’ll be in the same boat! Katherine is going to try the audio version of these books, so she can create and ‘read’ at the same time.

Look what Mr Postman delivered :)

a HUGE Thank you to Marian for my absolutely gorgeous doll quilt and other special prezzies. It turns out that we ended up doing a direct swap which was a fantastic surprise. This was not the only parcel of goodies arriving at my house this week. My dear friend Ros (aka Bloom) sent me some lovely Thank you presents for plying her with fabric & adding to her ever growing stash. You have blessed me heaps ‘M’, I look forward to meeting you in person someday! Ros has also designed a quilt for Moda Bake Shop called Simply-a-Bloom Quilt - go check it out, it’s stunning.

I am off on a 24 hour sewing retreat with some crafty friends tonight, I am hoping to get my Zig Zag quilt finished – & maybe some of my PIF prezzies. My finger has healed up beautifully, my DD Rachel says I have a “wicked” scar.

Confessions of a bad blogger :)

Oh dear, oh dear, I’m a very bad blogger….

The longer I leave it the harder it is to find the time to put a post together!

Boy oh boy, what a wonderful day we had on Saturday….



Rosalie, Leanne and their wonderfully supportive team put together a beautiful day of stitching, eating and relaxing in the gorgeous surrounds of Glenharrow.
Here’s a few shots that capture what we got up to…

Where our delicious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea was served, yum!

The grounds of Glenharrow are so peaceful and relaxing, even the kookaburra’s are laid back!



And so with so many other lovely distractions that’s all I got done!!  Katherine has finished her stitchery so we might get a sneak peek in her next post!

We would love a few interstate friends to visit with us next year…:)

Now, I have reason to believe this may be our 100th post!!  

Now there’s a reason to celebrate!!!

My Doll Quilt swap is winging its way to its new home – I express posted it so it should arrive on Wednesday :)

The Sewing Sisters (& Kylie’s Mum Gloria) went to ‘Spring Stitch In’ at Glen Harrow on Saturday - hosted by Leanne Beasley and Rosalie Quinlan. There is a fabulous action shot of Kylie here. The girls are going to share some more photos and the projects they made – can’t wait!

Post 99, I can’t believe we are about to celebrate our huge bloggy milestone. We are still finalizing our plans to share the joy!

DQS 7 Work in Progress

I was so excited about signing up for Doll Quilt Swap 7 after seeing so many gorgeous Doll Quilts on other peoples blogs. I was a bit delayed with my progress due to an accident with a pair of scissors… My middle finger on my left hand is now healing up – no stitches needed, just some steri-strips and a tetanus needle (which hurt more than my finger!). I was inspired by this quilt made by Ros's Mum. This is where I am up to, I should have it finished and posted off to its new home on Wednesday. Each block is 6 inches, and the finished size should be 18 inches square.

BTW - Mrs K had a bouncing baby boy named Koby, Rachel was so excited to tell me when I picked her up from school last week. She is looking forward to having a cuddle with him when Mrs K comes to school for a visit.

I found this delightful and different craft book at the library last week.

I am quite a Jane Austen fan (though DH would say I am more a Mr Darcy fan), so this has been a joy to look through. I am not rushing out to make anything from it just yet, too many UFO’s to finish.
