Another Sample Bag & a GIVEAWAY!

May 27th 007

I fired up the good old Janome to produce another sample bag to display at work. The pattern is McCall's M5543 – it includes 3 styles of bags. For this bag I added a magnetic closure, mobile pocket & extended the handles (& also didn’t use the binding around the top – I prefer the way it looks without it). This was my first attempt at prairie points, they were easy to make & look quite cute. I had quite a bit a fabric leftover, which is where the GIVEAWAY part comes in…

If you would like to win this bundle of yummy fabric, which includes 40 precut 5 inch squares and some folded prairie points, just leave a comment on this blog post (there is definitely enough fabric to make a bag of your own – & more). If you want to increase your chances of winning, mention & link to this giveaway on your blog for an extra 5 entries. The giveaway will be drawn on Monday 1st June & is open to International readers too! Good luck.

I have been inspired by Suzitee (aka Susan) to unearth a pattern I purchased years ago & haven’t started yet. It’s called Christmas Belle’s by Mum's Moment. I went through my stash on the weekend & picked out all my fabrics. I hope to have it finished by the 1st December 2009! Blogs are great for a wee bit of accountability :)

8 more sleeps till Kylie, Katherine and Abigail get here. Katherine texted me yesterday to say Virgin Blue had cancelled there flight – but they’re still coming (phew), just 1&1/2 hours later. How dare Virgin Blue take away sacred time with my sewing sisters *vbg* We have plans to work on a Triangle-less Zig Zag quilt by Crazy Mom Quilts, we’ll keep you posted.

With Love

Yay, I made it in as the first comment - will you have started the Christmas Belles in 8 sleeps? I'm coming over to check on progress - although there is the zig zag quilt to get organised... can't wait...

HI Jannelle,

Love your bag. This is the first time my computer let me leave a comment, and also the first time I have had time to look at anything crafty. Degree now complete, more time for craft. I love your blog for inspiration!!!. Your zig zag quilt sounds great. regards Robyn
