HELP NEEDED>>>

I had a lovely day a couple of weeks ago now at the Melbourne Quilt and Craft Show. Kylie and I came away inspired to complete more projects, wishing there were more hours in the day, more cash in our pockets and more storage at home for the growing stash. We completed a hands on workshop with the new Bernina 830 which was an eye opener to the possibilities…WOW! It was amazing and overwhelming at the same time… The stitch regulator was what got me drooling – I’d even consider stippling my own quilts if I had one of those! I came away content to continue with my faithful little machine for now and tuck all I learnt away for future reference.

While at the show kylie and I saw this little pattern and could not bare to walk past it. I have two daughters who could benefit from such a gorgeous jacket in their wardrobe…

Here’s where I ask for help… What fabrics should I use to make it. The jacket is fully reversible, which I love, but what combinations would be best? I have narrowed it down to four of the Farmers’s Market fabrics by Sandi Henderson that I have in my stash. But what combination would work best?

I might just have to enlarge the pattern (it only goes to size 5) for my 7 year old and make two with different combinations. I think I’ll take it with me this weekend as Kylie and I are heading away for another sewing weekend… Must go and prioritise those waiting projects.

Happy stitching to you all,

Katherine

My combo choice is the apples and the henna red, or the cherries and the henna pink!
Wish I could pop on a plane and join you this weekend :) Have an fabulously creative & refreshing time. Who gets the mini lemon tart this trip?

What a fun problem to have! It is such a sweet pattern and will look adorable on your daughters. I agree with Janelle's suggestions.

oh I love it so much...my eldest daughter would love that! And I think I would be right in saying she would choose the 2 fabrics on the right...the cherry one and the red based other one...love love love those fabrics sooooo much!

I would go the apples and the pink. I have this pattern at home and I am going to make it with red pincord with a blue and red cute floral for the inside. So cute. Goodluck.

oooh aah, apples with red henna and cherries with pink henna, same as JB. I'll be sewing market goods but could be persuaded to try that jacket...

Definately one with three and two with four. But I am always influenced by colour. I would make the blue cherry patternthe main feature in the first combination as that way it would go nicely with blues and greens and pinks. The reverse will look great with reds and stonger colours.

gorgeous fabric choices!

Hmmmm I'm thinking any single combo of these would be fabulous! If I were making it for my daughter I would probably do the cherries and pink. But it would be a fantastic jacket for fall, and well, apples fit the bill, so how about the apples and cherries?!

My choice would be the apples and the red to the right. I love Sandi Henderson's Farmers Market, can't wait to see the jackets you'll make. I have two daughters, 7 and 1 year old, would love to make two for them, have fun at the weekend sewing
